We settled in that evening and headed to the basement where we were sharing sleeping quarters with Sunny's sister, brother-in-law and nephew. We thought we'd give Sunny's sister a break and took baby duty that night. We watched "Fresh Prince of Belair" at midnight and fed him his bottle while Adam fell back to sleep on the couch. Crazy how guys can sleep through a baby crying... guess we know who will be getting up when we have a baby :)
The next morning, we did our traditional separation of guys and girls. The girls head out to the shops and boutiques while the guys do their "manly" round of golf. Seeing how NONE of the guys talked about their golf trip too much, we can only gather their were some pretty high scores that day! Adam was grateful that his only damage after the day of shopping was some fudge and didn't complain too much as he enjoyed Sunny's purchase.
That night, we celebrated Sunny's mom's birthday. Her real birthday isn't until this next week but she will be traveling to Japan to pick up her step-son from his mission so we wanted to be able to celebrate this milestone. She'd probably be ticked if we told everyone how old she was so we'll just say it rhymes with "nifty!" Happy birthday Mom!!! We hope you had a great birthday and an even better "real" birthday :)
Even though Friday was the actual 4th of July, the town celebrates it on Saturday. That Saturday night we headed into town - a very SMALL town :) and ate dinner at "Trappers." We've been eating here since Sunny was a little girl and are not too sure if they've updated the place since! Once dinner was over we walked across the street to the annual 4th of July Rodeo. Yes, you heard that right... we ALWAYS go to a rodeo on the 4th of July :) Bull riding, barrel racing and an evening of fireworks. We love this tradition and can't wait to continue it with our own family.
This weekend was so much fun... We love going up to the cabin!
