We can’t imagine how you feel and we don’t know what you’re going through, but we do know that Heavenly Father knows and loves you. We also know that you’ve been handed a challenge, just like us, and we can help each other. It won’t be easy, but we hope that by getting to know us better, we can provide some encouragement as you go through this process.
We are impressed by the amount of love and courage you are showing as you contemplate an adoption plan for your child. As you think about what the future holds for you and your baby, we pray that Heavenly Father will guide you. We also hope that you and your baby will consider joining our family.
We’ve always wanted a family and have been blessed by adoption once already. Quincy joined our family through adoption a little over a year ago. She is amazing, precious and the cutest thing ever - not that we are biased ☺ - and we are so grateful to have her in our lives. We have an open adoption with her birthparents, Morgan and Josh, and their extended families. They’re awesome! We maintain regular contact with them and feel like our daughter is blessed to have more people who love and care for her. Adoption truly is amazing! We would gladly make similar arrangements in a future adoption plan.
Our story is not quite a fairytale, but it’s pretty close. After finishing college, Adam moved to Arizona for work. Little did he know, he moved into the same area where Sunny grew up. One night, we met at a party and Adam asked for Sunny’s phone number. A few weeks later, we went on our first date for ice cream and a walk in a local park. Just ten months later (hey, that’s a LONG time by Mormon standards), Adam got down on one knee in that same park and asked Sunny to marry him. We were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple and had two wedding receptions – one in Arizona and one in Utah. Not wanting a typical wedding reception, we had a big party instead, complete with a mechanical bull!
While we’ve been married, we’ve had some amazing experiences. Adam finished graduate school, we purchased our first home together, we’ve traveled extensively, spent lots of quality time together, and perhaps our crowning achievement is being able to raise Quincy!
It may sound cheesy, but we are best friends. We’ve had some challenges along our journey, but for the most part we wouldn’t change anything. We’ve learned to laugh at our mistakes and have laughed A LOT. ☺ We’ve also learned to set and accomplish goals.
We own a nice home near numerous parks, schools, family and friends. Decorating for holidays, birthdays and special occasions is something we enjoy. Christmas is our favorite. In fact, on every trip we take, we purchase an ornament from the place we visit and then display it on our Christmas tree. It’s so much fun to decorate our tree and look back on memories we’ve had as a family. We also love to entertain. We like to throw BBQs, watch movies and sporting events, and throw Wii parties with friends and family.
Speaking of family, we are blessed to have supportive, kind examples on both sides. Between the two of us, we have 27 aunts and uncles, 74 cousins, 8 grandparents, 4 parents, 6 siblings, 3 nephews, 1 niece and a partridge in a pear tree! ☺ Whenever there is a family gathering, you can expect to find plenty of food, homemade ice cream and laughs.
Sunny was born and raised in Arizona where the majority of her family still resides. She is the oldest of three girls. Both of her sisters are married and have kids. Her mom is a retired attorney and now she teaches school. Her step-father owns his own business. Her mother is a very strong, independent woman who encouraged all of her daughters to develop talents. Growing up, Sunny was very involved in dance. She danced competitively and traveled all over the United States. One of her favorite experiences was dancing at the Summer Olympics in 1996. Later, she went on to teach at that same studio and eventually went on to own her own. Outside of dancing, she played basketball, ran track and was a high school cheerleader, where she was captain of her varsity cheer squad. She has a large extended family that gets together often for family dinners and for holidays. Sunny is very close to her family. She has a weekly lunch “date” with her grandparents, talks to her sisters on the phone daily and sees her mom a few times a week. We are lucky to live so close and have so much contact with family. Family relationships are important to us. We are excited to raise our children with so much support and love around.
Adam grew up in Utah where he has one younger brother and a lot of extended family. He has family in California, Kentucky, Utah and Washington. His dad is an architect and his mom is a registered nurse. They have been married for 35 years and taught him the value of hard work, responsibility and honesty. They are also strong examples of selflessness and dedication. In addition, they set an example by being faithful members of the church. Adam fondly remembers laughing with (and at!) his family around the dinner table. His parents encouraged him to be well-rounded. As a result, he played sports, took piano lessons, created artwork and acted in school plays. His family made annual trips to Jackson Hole and Disneyland. He applied the life lessons he learned from his parents, obtaining his eagle scout and serving an honorable mission in Italy. Upon returning home from his mission, he attended college. While a student, he was actively involved in student government, community service and graduated with honors. Later, he obtained his Masters of Business Administration from a top-rated business school. He plans to teach the value of hard work, goal setting, laughing, being well-rounded and gaining a testimony to his family.
You can only learn so much about us through a few pictures and words. We would love the opportunity to get to know you better and, if nothing else, gain a new friend. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at anytime.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
