A goal we set for ourselves when we first got married was to purchase additional real estate every two years. We have decided to keep our first home, turn it into a rental property, and purchase a second home. As of 8 AM this morning, the lease took effect and we are now officially landlords! Already, it feels sort of weird not being able to go into a home we own without notice, but it sure will feel good to have someone else pay the mortgage and watch the property appreciate in value. :)
Poor Adam... Most husbands have to worry about their wives shopping for shoes and clothes. Adam has to worry about his wife shopping for something a bit more expensive - homes. :) What a fun, crazy, and tiring week we've had! Every night since last Saturday we've been packing our things into boxes and moving them to a storage unit where they will stay until we close on our second home. Time and time again we thought we were done packing, but we'd find another drawer or cupboard with more stuff. :) Luckily, we tricked our family and friends into helping us load up all of our stuff. All it took was some Barro's pizza! :) We have amazing family and friends! They've been so helpful. Now, we can't wait to move into our new home and experience some new adventures. One thing we realized over this last week is we are not as young as we used to be and felt like it this morning, as we tried to get out of bed. :)
These pictures are so funny! You can see as the day goes along how tired Adam and Jason get. In the beginning, they are acting tough and flexing for the camera, but by the end the looks of exhaustion on their faces say it all!!
It was sort of surreal to pack the final boxes to our first home. We've collected so much junk (we've already done our Spring Cleaning for next year). :) We've also had so many wonderful memories in that house. However, we are excited to have a second home and be landlords. As soon as we are all settled, we would love to have some house guests! Pack your bags... it is still a COOL 92 degrees here!! :)
