4th of July!

Thursday morning, we woke up and started packing for our weekend up at our family cabin. It takes a little longer to get ready and we bring a few more things now than we used to! :) Once Quincy woke up, we realized her baby acne (or what we THOUGHT was baby acne) looked a lot worse today! As the morning went on, it continued to get worse, too. She now had a rash on her whole face, eye lids and ears. We didn't want to head out until we knew what the problem was. We were able to get into the pediatrician within the hour and Sunny took Quincy over while Adam continued to load the car. It turns out, Quincy does not have acne (not for a few years at least!) but has something called sebboreah, which is similar to eczema. Soooo... we now bathe her in special soap, use certain creams, etc. and hopefully she will outgrow it. The good news is it doesn't seem to bother her and it looks like it is getting better. Another medical emergency solved :) LOL

After the pediatrician, we quickly got on the road to avoid as much holiday traffic as possible. Quincy did great on the car ride! She is becoming quite the traveler! When she did get fussy, which was only the last 20 mins of each "leg," we played music and that settled her right down. Her new favorite band is "The Doors!" :)

We had such a great weekend! There were 29 of us at the cabin and Sunny's immediate family all stayed in the basement with all of the kids. We didn't get much sleep, but we don't at home either so it was all good! :) The weather was awesome and the company even better! We held the first annual family Olympics this year and the blue team aka OUR team won! Red team better watch out, we are going for a streak!!! We did sit the Rodeo and fireworks out this year. We were a little worried how that would go, but know by next year, Quincy will be able to handle the craziness! :)

The fourth of July is a time where we get to celebrate our freedom and the men and women who defend it on a daily basis. We were so blessed that Sunny's Uncle, Jon was able to come home for the weekend and spend time with all of us. He has completed two tours in Iraq now and we are hoping he isn't going back anytime soon, but we are grateful to him and all of our servicemen who make sacrifices for all of us! Happy fourth of JU-ly! (A little inside joke there!!)

Ok, Quincy's bow may be a LITTLE too big, but how cute is she?! :)
Here she is sporting her "Utah shoes" as her Dad calls them. This is the outfit she started in on the 4th... one major puke later and the skirt had to go!

With cousin, Peyton. She is only 5 months older! Yep, they had matching shirts and it was unintentional. Sunny and her sister must both have good taste!

Daddy's Little Sparkler!
