We woke up this morning ready to hit the beach. We drove to the north shore and the furthest tip of the island, Ke'e beach. The road literally ends at this beach, which backs to the Napali coastline and is AMAZING!! I know we are using that word a lot, but you just have to see this place. The beach is in a reef so there are basically no waves and the water is crystal clear. You see fish swimming all around you and are able to just float and relax while you take in the stunning backdrop. How cool to be relaxing in the water and be able to look up and around you to see mountains and jungles all around??We headed to one of the Mexican food restaurants for lunch. Not quite what we would consider Mexican food back at home. When the salsa tastes more like ketchup, you know something isn't quite right. Instead of going to any other beaches that day, we decided to head back to Ke'e. Why fix something that isn't broken right??
After "beach-ing" it for the day, we went back to our hotel to clean up for dinner. We decided to go the Marriott and ate at a grill called "Dukes." Basically, it was just PuPus (appetizers) and drinks but tasty enough to fill you up. We made sure to leave room for the dessert which is their famous hula pie - macadamia nut ice cream, oreo crust, whipped cream and chocolate. Sounds like our waste lines will be hurting when we get home.
Beach and good food... Could you ask for a better day??
