I guess we couldn't stay on vacation forever... we're now home, unpacked, rested and getting back to the daily "grind." We had such a great weekend! Since Adam didn't have to go back to work until Monday, we were able to enjoy an extended weekend together. We caught up on our movies by watching a few at home and seeing a double header at the theatre. It was Sunny's turn to pick the movie this time (we alternate who gets to chose) and she chose "Vegas" with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. Adam was a little hesitant but he laughed out loud a few times :) Cute movie... probably not Oscar worthy but we enjoyed it. After it was over we both looked at each other and decided to go for round 2. This time we saw "Kung Fu Panda." We both really liked this movie and for us, the best part was listening to the kids giggle throughout the entire thing. The theatre was PACKED with kids which kind of surprised us since it didn't get out until almost midnight. Jack Black can make anything funny... even a Panda!
On Sunday, we attended our ward and right before Sacrament started, Sunny was called in to meet with the Bishopric... Uh oh!! :) Actually, they were just giving her a new calling. She actually received two callings - Compassionate Service Leader AND Relief Society chorister. Now, if you know Sunny, you know she has NEVER had any musical talent whatsoever and it is even debatable as to whether she can stay on key! Thank goodness they gave her a week to figure out HOW to lead the music. This should be interesting :) We are both loving this new ward and anxious to serve in whatever capacity they ask of us... we'll try anything but can't promise we'll be good at it! Before we left for Hawaii, Adam was called to be in the Cub Scouts and he is very excited about that.
After church, we had family dinner with Sunny's family. We met at a park and grilled hot dogs. We always seem to have a good time and it probably helps that the food was pretty tasty too! Hilary and Matt (Sunny's sister and husband) brought a bat and wiffle balls so we played a makeshift baseball game. We even managed to get Sunny's mom to play. She surprised us all and scored a run or two. We were on opposite teams. Both of us are pretty competitive but we didn't keep "official" score. Although, Adam SAYS his team won. We'll let him think that :)
Reality hit us that night as we were getting ready for bed. No more waking up without alarm clocks, eating out every meal, and doing anything we want.
