Five full days and we were exhausted! We've seen so much and have had so much fun. Today is Sunday, so we were able to rest and relax and slow down a little. We started the day by sleeping in... the boat ride exhausted us :) We wanted to drive around the island today and take in a few sights. We drove up to the Wailua waterfall, around the east side and then headed back to our hotel. From our hotel, we decided to take a walk along the beach. Why can't Arizona have beaches?! At this point in our trip, we are seriously contemplating not getting back on the plane :) We ended the day with dinner at Scotty's BBQ which sits right on the beach.
One thing about the beach that is unique to Kauai is the sand. On most of the other Hawaiian islands the sand is white. On Kauai it is more of a golden color. The water isn't quite as clear as it is in the Bahamas but it is still gorgeous and clearer than lake or river water we see in Arizona.
We absolutely LOVE it here and can't wait to come back!!
