Where did the summer go?! This was an exciting, crazy, hectic, fun, overwhelming month. At the beginning of August we took our trip to Florida. Once we got home, craziness ensued. :)
A quick recap of JUST church events - A few days after our trip, we had an enrichment activity at our home with about 20 ladies or so. Sunny received a new calling as the Laurel advisor and is now working with the girls ages 16-18 in our ward. We met some of our church youth group up in Pinetop, which meant another trip up to the cabin. Adam is still staying busy with his calling in the young men's program (ages 12-18) in our ward and to cap it off... we both had to speak yesterday during sacrament meeting (Sunday, August 30th). PHEW!
We have continued to keep busy finishing up projects around our home (will we EVER really be finished?!?!?!). We bought some new furniture, an office set (YAY!! No more computer and printer on the floor) and soon we'll have window coverings installed. We HAVE to get some window treatments and sunscreens ASAP (probably more like yesterday). Poor Adam has had panic attacks as he has opened up our utility bills the last few months. Good thing those things will be done right in time for it to cool down! :) We should be finished with all our projects right about.... the time we decide to move again!! :)
Adam is happy that it is nearing his FAVORITE part of the year... football season! He "gave in" and signed up for a fantasy football team again this year and has been counting down the days until the "real" season starts. Although, it already feels like games have been playing 24/7 in our home with all the pre-season games being played. He continues to stay busy at work which is such a blessing, especially during these tough economic times. He has been GREAT about getting up SUPER early to go to the gym and has a big smile on his face when he gets home all sweaty. :) He is an AMAZING dad and will do anything for Quincy!! He has a new little rap that he enjoys singing to her, takes care of cleaning the bottles at night, changes diapers and takes her AS SOON AS HE WALKS IN THE DOOR FROM WORK! They are so cute together! He's still the best husband and has been so supportive of Sunny in all that she does!
Sunny is still enjoying her new full-time position as Mom!! It is definitely the BEST job in the world!!!! She has continued with her "boot camp" classes and, as long as her buddy, Kendra comes, she never misses! :) (Thanks Kendra!!) She is excited about her new church calling and even more excited that her talk in church is now done! One place you won't find her too often now is Sonic... she gave up drinking soda... GASP!! We'll see how long this lasts. :) Sunny also can't wait for football season either. She's not as quite as passionate about Adam, but her favorite date nights are the ASU football games with dinner at Ted's beforehand.
Quincy is still as cute as ever! LOL This is OUR blog and we'll brag when we want to! :) She is three months today (look for her three month post coming soon). She has developed quite the personality and keeps both of her parents in line! You can guess who rules our house!! :) She is a smiling, drooling, hand eating, rolling machine who continues to steal our hearts! We received word this week that her adoption will be finalized October 29th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On a personal note, we found out that Sunny's Grandpa has prostate cancer. This has been a huge blow to our entire family. Sunny is EXTREMELY close to her grandparents and was even the one who drove him for his biopsy. We are optimistic that everything WILL be okay, but if you could spare a prayer or two, we would greatly appreciate it!
There you have it! Some up's and down's, but that's what makes us who we are. We are definitely ready for the summer... ok... let's re-word that... the HEAT to be over! When it's still 115 degrees outside and almost September, something is definitely wrong. This is about the time of year where we THINK we want to move. Give us a few months when we are enjoying Thanksgiving outside and we'll change our minds back! :) Goodbye August... Hello September!!
